The extensive Nebrodi region is the largest protected area of Sicily. With its rich vegetation, verdant woods, quiet small lakes and flowing streams, this nature reserve is a suitable destination for ecologic tourism as well as for naturalistic excursions. The area is also well known for its gastronomic dishes, including the tasty black Sicilian swine and many other essential yet genuine specialties.
